Ever wonder why your veterinarian always seems to take x-rays in sets of two?
Here's an excellent example! A cat is in an accident and a simple lateral view x-ray is taken. Everything seems fairly normal, although the vertebra on the left seems a bit compressed. There may easily be a compression fracture or worse at this site. Unless we take a look at the same patient in the opposite plane, we really can't appreciate what's going on here. So the veterinarian orders a second view, with the patient rotated 90 degrees.
